At the top of Telegraph Hill – this building had a single parking space in a garage barely deep enough to fit a single compact car. A 12’-0” surcharge of earth was excavated to expand the garage for tandem parking. An elevator was added to decrease ‘climb time’ (keep in mind that the sidewalks are stairs around here) to the top story Kitchen, Living, & Dining spaces. The interior stairs were rebuilt with acrylic treads to allow light to pour down to the lower levels. Funky bathroom & bedroom layouts were reconfigured to create sensible spaces with adequate storage areas. The small roof deck was expanded to take advantage of views of the TransAmerica building & both bridges.
